The 13-year-old Jeremy lives in a run-down house and flips through a baking book. He takes some money and has a flashback of his mother, Eva, asking him to do something for her. He heads to the village, passing a missing person poster. Another flashback brightens his mood. At the bakery, he meets a kind baker who helps him make a strawberry birthday cake. As Jeremy works, his mother’s words echo in his head: "You have to do something for me." He shares a lighthearted moment with a young baker and receives help from Jenny, the cashier, who gives him decorations even though he doesn’t have enough money. On his way home, he experiences dark visions. Jenny sees him on the street and takes him home. They have a conversation about puppies. At home, Jeremy sets up the cake, hoping his mother will eat it. Instead, she wants something else. He asks her to blow out the candles, but she can’t. Jeremy snaps out of his illusion as his mother reveals her dark, monstrous form. She demands that Jeremy make sure Jenny enters the house. Jeremy initially refuses but eventually calls—only to hang up immediately. Jenny arrives unexpectedly and forces her way inside. A confrontation unfolds in the living room, where Jenny doesn’t survive. The cake remains untouched; instead, his mother devours Jenny. Jeremy is called by his mother again. She strokes him with bloodied hands and orders him to join her in eating. Afterward, he cleans himself up. In a flashback, he sees the knife lying next to the cake. Later, he storms into his mother’s room, knife in hand, determined to end it once and for all. The next morning, the house is devoid of any traces. Jeremy leaves, baking book in hand, walking down the long road past missing person posters, accompanied by Jenny’s dog. He is heading to the bakery.
