A beautiful, melancholic tale of a young Jewish boy forced to hide in a cupboard during the occupation of Poland. Beautifully toned chiaroscuro images capture the traumatised, quasi-nocturnal existence of the boy, whose fragile state of mind amplifies every sound outside the safety of the cupboard.

Jacob is a little boy living in a wardrobe. His entire universe consists of just one room. The window in this room is a portal to another dimension. But Jacob is not allowed to even look through it. Because in the world outside, little boys like Jacob - little Jewish boys - are not allowed to live and be little boys. “Jacob” is a stark, intimate and powerful study of loneliness and longing of a survivor, hiding from the horrors of war.
