Plot:
One night, Nishimura Gosaku, an aspiring photographer who loves taking photos of mountains, meets a boy named Sada Ichiro, who asks Gosaku for money for his train fare. For some reason, Ichiro follows Gosaku wherever he goes. When Gosaku tells Ichiro to go home, he says he doesn't want to go back this time in order to wake up his feuding parents. Gosaku reluctantly lets Ichiro stay the night. The next day, Gosaku takes a photo of Ichiro by the Sumida River, and they part ways on good terms. Meanwhile, worried about Ichiro, his father Shigekichi (Nakayama Jin) and his wife Fujiko (Matsumoto Rumi) frantically ask Ichiro's schoolmates and cram school teacher (Kishibe Shiro) about his whereabouts, but no one knows. Then Shigekichi receives a phone call demanding a ransom of 10 million yen.
